Accessibility

Bridgeport Restaurant Week runs on Brightr. We want everyone to be able to use it, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or other assistive technology.

Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 Level AA).

Status

Partially conformant: parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. These are the gaps we know about and are working on:

  • Maps: Pins that sit close together overlap and can be hard to tap. Moving a zoomed map takes dragging. On passport maps, a focused pin can sit under its own label or a map control.
  • Touch and spacing: On phones, the chip row on a door's front page moves by swiping only. With increased text spacing, offer lines on a passport home page are cut off (the full offer is on the stop's page).
  • Pop-up: On other websites, Escape closes the pop-up only when focus is outside it.
  • Outside this system: Older passes not yet moved over, including First Pass, and the rest of any customer website Brightr appears on.
  • Review: No one who uses a screen reader every day has reviewed Brightr yet, and no independent audit has been done.

How we tested

This is our own testing, not an independent audit.

  • Automated scans with axe-core on 28 kinds of page, at phone and desktop widths (November 5 and 6, 2026).
  • NVDA 2026.3 with Chrome on Windows, on parts of the visitor flows (November 5 and 6, 2026).
  • TalkBack on an Android emulator, keyboard-driven (November 5, 2026).
  • VoiceOver on iPhone, on Ask, the map, a practice pass and a sign-up form (November 5, 2026).
